As President of L&S Advisors, Stephen Seo is responsible for guiding the growth of L&S and further developing L&S existing investment offerings and services. With Stephen, L&S has been able to grow from its core focus on investment management in the public markets to now offer additional opportunities for clients in a variety of assets classes including institutional funds and private equity. In addition, Stephen routinely hosts educational seminars to expand L&S community outreach and support the L&S client base. Finally, Stephen adds significant expertise to L&S in financial planning and tax consulting providing further resources for existing L&S clients.
Prior to joining L&S, Stephen served as the Chief Investment Officer at an RIA in Los Angeles where he oversaw the significant growth of that firm. Stephen began his career at Deloitte providing assurance services to multinational corporations and later began his career in financial services at JP Morgan Private Bank working with ultra-high-net-worth investors.
Stephen earned a B.A. in economics from the University of California, San Diego where he graduated with Honors with Highest Distinction, and a minor in accounting. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
On the personal side
Stephen is Korean and his wife is Colombian, and recently announced the birth of their daughter. They are attempting to teach their daughter three languages at once and patiently waiting to hear her first word.
In his free time, Stephen loves to listen to music and watch sports, from baseball to F1. He cannot wait to teach his daughter a musical instrument and take her to a sports game/race.
Stephen is passionate about education and financial literacy. As a mentor for aspiring Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Chartered Financial Analysts (CFAs), his passion is to guide future successful leaders in accounting and finance.
Something you may not know about Stephen
Stephen almost became a musician before choosing a traditional career.
Stephen is adventurous and likes to travel to places like Mexico, Colombia, and Hawaii; especially anywhere where there is a beach. Stephen is also interested in a lot of subjects, from movies, like the thought-provoking kind like “Interstellar”, to music to food, with sushi being his absolute favorite dish.
